Terms of use
These terms cover use of this website and trips booked with Hookset Fishing Co. By booking a trip you agree to them.
Bookings and deposits
A trip is confirmed when we receive your deposit. The balance is due at the dock on the day of the trip. Prices on this website are per trip, not per person, and may change before a booking is confirmed.
Weather
The captain or guide decides whether a trip runs, usually the evening before or at the dock. If we cancel for weather or safety, you can choose a new date or get a full refund of your deposit.
Cancellations by you
Cancel 14 days or more before your trip for a full deposit refund. Inside 14 days, your deposit can be moved to another date in the same season.
On the water
- Follow the captain’s or guide’s instructions at all times. They may end a trip early for safety.
- Life jackets are on board for every passenger, and children must wear one on deck.
- Fishing is an outdoor activity with real risks, including hooks, slippery decks, sun and sea conditions. Tell us about any medical condition that could affect you on the trip.
Licenses and regulations
Anglers 16 and older need a New Jersey fishing license for freshwater trips. Our for-hire registration covers the Saltwater Recreational Registry on charter boats. All fish are kept or released under New Jersey size, bag and season limits, and the captain or guide has the final say on keepers.

Liability
To the extent the law allows, Hookset is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website or from a trip. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under New Jersey law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
